Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day

“Blessings of Schechter”

“May you live to see your children’s children — peace be on Israel” - Psalm 128:6

On May 6, 2015 Schechter School of Long Island's Lower School (K-5) held its annual Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day;  one of our most beloved events of the year. We want to thank all Grandparents and Special Friends for attending this event and especially to those who traveled quite a distance to join us.  Before enjoying a hearty brunch, students and grandparents partook in a traditional Motzi blessing, followed by a "Then and Now" interative questionaire, "what was your favorite subject in school when you were my age?"  The program concluded in the auditorium, where students delighted their Grandparents and Special Friends with songs that were performed in Hebrew and in Schechter, it's always nice to end things on a musical note! It was a fun-filled day with smiles, laughter and joy that could be felt throughout the hallways of the school. Hope to see you all back again next year!
