High School Procedures (Grades 7-12)

A completed application to Solomon Schechter High School of Long Island includes:

Application for Admission
Student Application
A Principal's Evaluation
Three Teacher Evaluation Forms. We require an evaluation from an English teacher, a Math teacher and a Judaic Studies teacher.
A signed Release of Records form
A transcript for the previous two years sent directly to Solomon Schechter High School of Long Island.
A non-refundable application-processing fee of $100

Admissions Screening

Admissions testing will be administered in January. All applicants are required to take the schools admissions testing in Mathematics, English and NETA Hebrew. Students already participating in the NETA Hebrew program are exempt from the Hebrew test.

Campus Visits

All applicants are welcome to spend time shadowing a student in our High School.

Transportation

All Nassau and Suffolk students should apply to their local school district for transportation. Your district is required to transport students to any school of your choice within a 15 mile radius of your home. You must request the transportation prior to April 1st the year preceding enrollment and every year thereafter. You may always withdraw the application, you cannot initiate it after April 1st.

Solomon Schechter High School of Long Island will arrange transportation. Parents are billed for a fraction of the cost of this transportation.
