Elementary School Procedures (Grades K-5)

Age Requirement for Kindergarten Enrollment

A child applying to Kindergarten must be 5 years old by December 31st of the year of enrollment.

A completed application to Solomon Schechter Day School of Nassau County includes:

1. A signed Application for Admission.
2. A signed Release of Records Form.
3. If you are interested in applying for Financial Assistance, you may do so confidentially by visiting the FACTS Grant and Aid website for more information. 
4. A copy of your child’s Birth Certificate
5. Non-refundable application fee of $100

Transportation

All Nassau and Suffolk students should apply to their local school district for transportation. Your district is required to transport students to any school of your choice within a 15 mile radius of your home. You must request the transportation prior to April 1st the year preceding enrollment and every year thereafter. You may always withdraw the application, you cannot initiate it after April 1st.
